Perryville is a lovely, tight knit Missouri town.  If you enjoy seasonal weather, community spirit, small town atmosphere and family-friendly activities.  There are signs everywhere of the history and culture of this area.  It is a 200 year old community deeply rooted in Midwestern culture.  You can explore this history and ethos at the Perry County museum which is a two story historical building created to share the beauty and antiquity of this town and the area, in general.  In addition, the town maintains many parks, a disc golf course, hiking and biking trails and senior center. The many programs, classes, sports leagues and community events bring the community together and keep the residents of the town connected and invested in their hometown.

The heart of the Perryville community is the courthouse square with its decorative sidewalks and creative tree plantings.  Mayfest is held annually in the square.  As the name suggests, it is held in May and it is a lovely way to spend a warm, spring weekend enjoying community spirit, tasty food, sports tournaments, concerts and more. The town has been holding it for 30 years and it has progressively become larger, more elaborate and more exciting. Locals and visitors come out for fun and fellowship that simply can’t be missed.

The Perry Park Center, located in the city park, is a facility that can be used year-round. The center features an indoor pool which is open year-round, a gymnasium for basketball and other athletics, a meeting room, fitness rooms both for weights and cardio as well as an indoor track and a performing arts center. The town’s library is also housed in the center.  A Farmer’s Market is held outside of the center on every Saturday from 7 am – 11 am and on Wednesday evenings from 3 pm – 6 pm.
