About Fruitland, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Fruitland is an unincorporated community in Southeastern Missouri. Located 5 miles north of the town of Jackson, it is an ideal escape for those who prefer rural living. In many ways, it is the quintessential Midwestern farming community. It is not hard to imagine how it got its name (the area’s name refers to a nursery for fruit trees which was established there by Edgar Wallace). The area itself is a lovely, country atmosphere that makes you want to rock on a front porch and a drink in lemonade. Well, lemonade in the summer and hot cocoa in the winter, that is. The weather is cold in the winter and hot in the summer but generally moderate.
What does the area have to offer? Peace and quiet, for one! Driving through Fruitland, you will see barns and farms, livestock and crops all along the country roads. There are livestock auctions held often and local farmers sell meat and crops to residents and visitors. Though there is little commerce in the community, its proximity to Jackson gives residents access to every amenity that they need. It is just close enough to industry to be comfortable and just far enough to be rural. It is the best of both worlds for the modern farmer, country boy or nature lover.
Local churches are community centers where people gather for meals, friendship, fellowship and worship. They huddle in the warmth of the sanctuary at Christmas and enjoy the spring sunshine for Easter events. The churches are integral part of the area’s culture and social climate. For example, Fruitland Community Church holds many classes and events for members. They also travel to nearby communities to minister and share their faith. Wesley United Methodist Church is another active church in the area, holding dinners, events and social gatherings that are both fun and spiritually rewarding.
